La Chureca

We have an amazing group of young people who are working right now to raise money to go to La Chureca in 2011.   Two of our own have already been  there.  Ray Edmonds and Laura Holderfield.  They are very passionate about Nicaragua and the people that live there.

Please take a few minutes and watch what Operation Christmas Child is doing in La Chureca.  This is the same place that two of our own have been.   Take some time, one on one, and talk with Ray and Laura about how their world has been turned upside down after taking thier own mission trips to La Chureca.  Hear their hearts.  These two young people will never be the same again and neither will the children they have come in contact with.  At the same time, we, the church body, will never be the same again either.   Some of our young people will be on this 2011 trip with Ray and Laura and it is so important that we begin to pray for them now.  My heart breaks as I watch this video and listen to the words spoken there.  We, in America, have no idea what life is like in La Chureca.  It is incomprehensible to us.  God has given Laura a vision and she needs our support to make it happen.  God is using Laura and Ray to change the lives of our children, here in America.  He is giving them the heart of Jesus- mission hearts.  You see, it takes all of us to do this mission work.  We can support the trip with our prayers, our finances and our donations of clothing and shoes.  They have been diligent in working at fundraising for this trip.
